about THE PROJECT

The maProject was originally initiated by three individual dance artists from the new and the older member countries of the European Union: the Netherlands, Poland and Lithuania. Interested in artistic collaboration with each other Liat Magnezy, Agnija Šeiko and Konrad Szymanski came up with an idea for a project intended for meeting East and West of Europe for the purpose of exploration and expression: “With this new initiation we are interested in widening the boundaries of our creativity and contributing to the better understanding of our own cultural background as well as of the others”.

For these collaboration two other artists, Bulgarian composer Petar Doundakov and Dutch video artist Joost van Veen, were invited to have their input in creating multidisciplinary arts installation.

Finally the project involves 34 artists from Lithuania, Netherlands, Bulgaria and Poland - dancers, performers, musicians and singers, who widened the geographic scope of the project.

maProject will premiere on 18 of September 2009 at 7pm in Lobby of the New Palace of Vilnius Academy of Arts (Malūnų str. 5, Vilnius, Lithuania).

More performances will take place:
Friday 18th of September _ 9pm
Saturday 19th of Spetember _ 5pm _ 7pm _ 9pm

Entrance to the public presentation of the project results is free.

Number of visitors will be limited, the priority to enter will be given to those who will register by e-mail registracija@maproject.eu until September 17.
